About Sally

Success is a journey, not a destination.

Where it started for Sally

Born in Leicestershire, Sally Corscadden moved to Ireland in 1988, where she met her husband Brendan and set up the now well-known and highly-regarded equestrian training facility that is Grange Farm.

Like many young equestrian participants, Sally was an active member of the Pony Club in her formative years, actively participating in everything from mounted games to hunter trials.

She also enjoyed hunting and followed one of the UK’s most famous hunting packs, the Quorn Hunt of which her father was a member. It wasn’t until the age of 18 that Sally took up the sport of eventing.

Throughout her career as an international rider, Sally won events such as the CIC3* at Thirlestane Castle, the final trial for the British and Irish European team in 1993, she also recorded wins on Irish soil in CCI’s at Ballindenisk and Blarney. At the 1993 European Championships in Achselschwang, Germany Sally was on the bronze medal-winning team and also placed individual 12th. Sally competed at the 1994 World Equestrian Games in the Hague, Netherlands where her team finished fifth.

Sally’s coaching career began shortly after the 1994 World Equestrian Games, when she became High Performance Coach to the Irish Junior Eventing Team who went on to win the team silver medal at the 1995 Junior European Championships in Gotland, Sweden. Sally also coached the Irish junior that won team silver at the European Championships in 2008. Success has also been achieved with the Swedish Pony European Team securing a Bronze medal at the 2015 European Championships.

Sally brought Irish eventing to medal-winning success through her passion for performance. She continually looks for new gains, bringing world class trainers like Yogi Breisner and Andrew Nicholson to Grange Farm to further her own performance as a coach. I regularly ask her to ‘build Burghley’ and she’ll design the lines and questions that push me to peak performance. It’s a huge asset to have someone on home soil with the mindset and skillset to help us achieve global success.

I  have had the pleasure of working alongside Sally. She is extremely dedicated to her students, athletes and sport. I believe we never stop learning in this sport and Sally is constantly challenging herself to reach higher goals and invests in her equine education to strive for excellence. Sally  is open, kind, and compassionate. Working with Sally gives a rider a wonderful future in eventing. Sally will push and encourage a rider to move out of their comfort zone, for them to progress onto the next level. I have learned so much from her and I would recommend her to anyone.

I have known Brendan and Sally Corscadden for nearly 40 years. Their combined horsemanship and knowledge can be clearly seen in the cleverly designed cross country training grounds at Grange Farm.

I have watched Sally over the years develop first into a high echelon rider and then attain a similar standard as a coach. Therefore I would highly recommend her as a horsewoman and coach who specialises in giving great confidence to riders by helping them build positive partnerships with their horses through progressive training.
